Terranigma (1995 SNES)

Being a huge Final Fantasy and JRPG fan I was always trying to find similar games on whatever system possible. A friend of mine insisted a while back that Terranigma is the best RPG on the SNES, even better than Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI (III). Well… I couldn’t believe that, at least not before I tried the game. So I tried it! And played it! In both English and Japanese, and now I am finally reviewing it 🙂

Aladdin (Sega MD/Genesis 1993)

Aladdin! Another Disney game based on one of our favorite movies. The Sega MD/Genesis was the system to get if you wanted to play good Disney games. We already reviewed Lion King and liked it, Aladdin is up and later i will look at Jungle Book. All great looking games with soundtracks we all know and love from the movies. Streets of Rage II (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis 1992)

8We just cleared another co-op title! This time it is a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis title, and a pretty well known title too. It’s Streets of Rage II!  We have never really delved into the co-op library of the Mega Drive like we have with the SNES but we always knew that Streets of Rage II was considered a solid title. Lords of Thunder (PC Engine/Turbografx 1993)

Until recently I knew next to nothing about the Tubografx 16 console (PC Engine in Japan) but when I started looking into the Castlevania series and Rondo of Blood I was intrigued. Having 16-bit games on a CD adds so much to the games’ depth. That is the case with this gem “Lords of Thunder” which was released in 1993 which only makes it more special. This is a Shoot em’ up game ( a “shmup” game like Gradius, Xevious, Galaga & Thunder Force) and there were a lot of them on the Turbografx but I saw this one was special right away so I decided to try it out.

Shovel Knight (Wii U 2014) + Amiibo co-op function review

Shovel Knight was a breath of fresh air  to a video game environment deprived of great retroesque experiences. We had seen some releases like Mega Man 9, other indies and fun handheld games but nothing felt as fresh and innovative as Shovel Knight. I am going to give you my thoughts on the Wii U version of Shovel Knight but the main purpose of this article is to  review the new Amiibo unlocked co-op function and see if it is the real deal or a bust!
